Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pick my own plate?

It’s a Gathered tradition to ask a guest to pick their plate on arrival. We have a range of beautiful dinner plates for you to choose from.

What does BYOB mean?

Most Gathered events are BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) which invites guests to bring their own alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy during the event unless otherwise stated on the listing. A non-alcoholic welcome drink is provided.

Where we partner with vineyards, breweries or other drinks producers, drinks may instead be available to purchase directly from our partner. Details will always be included on the event page.

Where can I find my tickets?

Gathered doesn't use physical or digital tickets. Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive a confirmation email and your name will be added to our guest list.

When you arrive, simply let a member of the Gathered team know your name for access to the event. If you can't find your confirmation email before the event, just get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

What does a Gathered event look like?

Set in beautiful outdoor locations, our long-table dining experiences bring people together to enjoy seasonal food, meaningful conversation and time spent outdoors enjoying British landscapes. On arrival, you'll be welcomed by the Gathered team to a drinks reception where you can mingle with guests. You’ll then be invited to choose your own dinner plate - a small tradition that makes every table unique. Following the reception, the hosts of the evening will take you on a guided tour of the location.

After the tour, you’ll be invited to take your seat at the long table. As the meal unfolds, you'll enjoy a thoughtfully crafted seasonal menu created by a local chef, with dishes inspired by the surrounding landscape. Whether you arrive with friends, family or on your own, Gathered is about slowing down, sharing great food and leaving feeling a little more connected to the outdoors than when you arrived.

How long do events last?

Most Gathered events are expected to last around five and a half hours.

Guests usually arrive from 5:30pm for a welcome drink before enjoying a short introduction from your host or a tour of the venue. Dinner is served approximately 90 minutes after arrival, with the evening drawing to a close around 11:00pm.

How does seating work?

Our events are centred around shared tables, encouraging conversation and connection. We don't allocate seats, but if you're attending as a group of five or more, let us know in advance and we'll do our best to seat you together. We may only be able to accommodate if your group are all a part of the same booking.

When will I know the menu?

Our seasonal menu is revealed around two weeks before each event. We let the ingredients guide the menu, allowing our chefs to make the most of what's at its best.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

We can cater for vegetarian guests, provided we're notified at least one week before the event.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please let us know when booking. We'll always discuss your requirements with the chef and do our best to accommodate them. However, due to the outdoor nature of our events and shared preparation spaces, we cannot guarantee that dishes will be completely free from allergens. Guests with allergies attend at their own discretion.

What happens if I am late?

Life happens, and you're still very welcome.

If you think you're running late, we'd appreciate it if you could let us know where possible. We'll do our best to help you settle in, although some parts of the experience - such as welcome drinks, introductions or venue tours- may already have taken place.

What happens if it rains?

Gathered events go ahead in all but the most severe weather, so we recommend dressing for the season and embracing the outdoors. If conditions become unsafe, we'll move the event to a sheltered or indoor space where possible or postpone it if necessary.

What should I wear?

There's no formal dress code, but we do recommend dressing comfortably for the season and the outdoors.

Our events take place in beautiful natural settings, so sensible footwear is encouraged, particularly if the ground is uneven or soft. We also recommend bringing an extra layer and a waterproof jacket, as British weather can be unpredictable - even in summer.

Above all, wear something you feel comfortable in and can enjoy a leisurely afternoon or evening outdoors.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely. Many of our guests attend on their own. Gathered is designed to bring people together around a shared table, and you'll always receive a warm welcome.

Can children attend?

Gathered events are 18+.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not permitted. Assistance dogs are always welcome.

Is the venue accessible?

Please contact us before booking so we can discuss any accessibility requirements and advise whether a particular venue is suitable.

What if I have tickets but can no longer attend?

As our events involve advance planning and the purchase of seasonal ingredients, bookings are non-refundable.

If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member free of charge by notifying us of their name at least 48h before the event. Please also include any dietary or accessibility requirements.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

Will photographs be taken?

We may take photographs and video during our events for use on our website, social media and other promotional material. If you'd prefer not to appear in any content, please let a member of the team know when you arrive.
